This is intended to offer enough information and food for thought, to encourage you and others to join us and take part in creating a vision which will act, not only as a beacon, but can also be developed into an operational plan for this huge and heartfelt program designed to end homelessness in Ireland, once and for all!
If you are already working to alleviate the hardships of homeless people, you have precious experience of what works and what doesn’t. This knowledge and experience can make all the difference if you are in at the creation of the vision. The more genuine stakeholders, people with a passion, strong views and beliefs who can be in the room when we do this, the more powerful this process is. A small group of us sketched out a partial vision on-line last year (2020) and a pdf copy of this is available from info@homefullnessireland.org.
The vision-building method we will use is called Future-basing. It’s a process that has been used all around the world since the late 1980s. One of its most important characteristics is that it enables big groups of people to create a jointly owned vision, and to do it very rapidly. If you are there, you will be forging it with us, and making history as an original contributor.
We begin by agreeing an end date, what we call our Future-base, and during the process, we act as if this is today’s date:

If you could be involved in agreeing the date, in adding any categories that you think important, in describing Achievements in a systematic way, the vision would be yours, jointly owned and created by you. You would add so much more if you were there!
